Thu, 30 Sep

After the Captain's Ball challenge, we went to the computer lab for a self-directed lesson on the Digestive System. Thereafter, we continued with the Koobits lesson to complete the e-book.

No homework has been given out today, but you have to complete all the exercises in your 3B Math Textbook for the following topics:
- Time
- Angles
- Perpendicular & Parallel Lines
- Area & Perimeter

Tues, 28th Sep

English:

We did a picture composition today. For those who did not manage to complete it in time, please hand it in tomorrow.


Math:

We're still on the topic of Area and Perimeter. Term 4 week 5 Problem Sum is with your child. Please ensure that your child completes it neatly and hand it in tomorrow.

Science:

I've gone through all the answers to the exercises in "Journey through My Digestive System". Please file.

Please ensure that your child completes Revision Book on Diversity. It is due tomorrow.

30th Sep (Thurs):

Attire: P.E uniform.

There will be Math and Eng Lessons after recess. For English, the students will be writing their compositions on Kool Bits. Please bring thumbdrive (download pictures which are appropriate for the content of the composition).

Parent Volunteers for 13 Oct: Still awaiting response from all parents. I would like to encourage parents to volunteer for this.

Math:

We have completed the topic on "Angles" and have moved on to "Area and Perimeter", MPAL worksheet practice 1 and 2.

English:

Please ensure that your child completes his/her Composition correction and hands in tomorrow.
It will be used in Kool Bits on Thurs. HW: Look for appropriate pictures from the internet and save to thumbdrive for use on Thurs.

We'll be doing another composition tomorrow. Please bring book of phrases to school.

Science:

Complete exercises from the green book "A Journey through my Digestive System" and hand in tomorrow.

REQUEST:
Parent volunteers are needed for 13th Oct (Oral Exam) from 7.45am -12.30pm to look after the class as all the teachers will be deployed for the Examination.
Please email Linda at Lindagoh@hotmail.com if you are able to make it. We can have 2 shifts for those who can help for only 2.5 hours- Shift 1:7.45 -10.15am; Shift 2: 10.00am - 12.30 pm.

Term 4 Calendar

All the important dates up to the end of Term 4 have been given to everyone. Students who have not updated these in their Student Handbook/Diary are to copy them from their friends.

Thu, 23 Sep

English
- we begun the first of a 2-part lesson on Kool Bits, an animation software for you to create your own e-book. The next lesson will be next Thu during the English period

Math
- We went on to Parallel Lines
- Another weekly problem worksheet was given out to be completed

Science
- We're still on the topic of Digestive system and will complete it tomorrow. Bring permanent coloured markers to create your aprons tomorrow.
- The Systems Activity books have been marked and returned for your revision. Students with folded pages, please complete them.

English:

We have completed Textbook 3B unit 11 and have moved on to unit 12 (SPACE). We read pg 60-61 in class and did worksheet Unit 12 pg 72, 73. Went through worksheets Unit 11-Vocab and SPG worksheets.

Please continue to bring Textbk 3B to school. A few students still do not have it in class.

English red ring file is ready for collection. Please remind your child to bring it home.

Maths:

We have moved on to Angles. Worksheet has been submitted. If you child still has it at home, pl ensure that the work is completed and submitted tomorrow.

Please continue to do your filing at home as all Blue files have been returned.

Science:

Still on Body Systems. Please continue to bring textbook and workbook on SYSTEMS.
The printed green-coloured workbook "Body Systems: Journey through My Digestive System" must be brought to school everyday.

We did pg 3 and 4 of the green workbook in class.

There will be no school tomorrow due to the PSLE Listening Comprehension. Log in to Ask N Learn for your home-based learning (HBL) on Friday.

Science
We had an introduction to the human digestive system. The Student Handouts are with you, and you have to bring them everyday until the topic is completed.

Math
We have finished going through the Mock Test paper. All corrections should be completed and the paper filed.

We have also finished the topic on Time and will be moving on to Angles next Monday.

English
We did a composition in class today - situational writing. Those who did not hand in will have to do so on Monday.

Class Monitors - Marque and Ethan have been nominated to be the class monitors for Term 4.

Science - We began the topic on Digestive System today. This is a 2-week package programme after which we will begin our revision for Science.

English - Bring your book of Sensational Phrases tomorrow. We will be writing a composition tomorrow.

Math - We did Practice 6 on Time today. Please complete your work and hand it in if you have not done so in class.

14th Sep, 2010

English:
We've completed the comprehension unit on Unit 11 (Book 3B).
Started on Pronouns today. We've completed pages 59 and 60 (worksheets) and the students have handed in their worksheets.
Please remember to pack English Textbook 3B in your child's school bag as not all students have them today.

We are done with "Lady Lawyer" so there's no need to pack it to school.

Poems for SA2:
2 poems have been given out today. Please have your child memorise only 1. They are worth 5 marks and will be tested in Week 5.

Math:
Homework: Practice 5, Pages 15-18. Due tomorrow.

Please bring the Mock test paper as we're still going over the paper.

Science:
Have gone over the Science practical test paper.
Please bring SYSTEMS textbook and workbook for Science lessons for this term.

Reminders:
1) Please ensure that your child completes his/her corrections for the Math mock test, Math Trail, English test paper as well as Science practical paper.

2) Do remember to bring the acknowledgement slip for CA2 results tomorrow.

Mon, 13/9 - Daily work

English
- We've started on Unit 11 (book 3B). We're halfway through the comprehension unit and the worksheets are with me. I'm using this to teach/reinforce several comprehension answering skills.
- Please bring only 3B to school and keep 3A at home for the rest of this term.

Math
- Homework: Week 1 problem sums (on Time)
- Mock test, we've gone through Section A, and will use about 15~20 min each day this week to go through Sections B & C. Please bring this daily until we've gone through the paper.
- The new topics to be learned this term are Time, Angles, Parallel, Perpendicular lines, Area & Perimeter.

Momotaro, The Peach Boy play

The play will be on Friday, 3 Sep. Right after morning assembly, we will proceed to the hall for a few activities to prepare us for the play. At 8.45 am, we will gather to board the buses and should return to school at about 12.15 pm.

School ends at 1 pm (normal time).

These are what you should do:
1) Come in any Japanese traditional attire, or school uniform if you don't have any.
2) Bring a small bag with light snacks and water bottle.
3) Have a heavy breakfast before coming to school.
4) Textbooks are not needed, but please bring any homework that you have to submit to your teachers,
