We had our English language quiz today. We also went to the computer laboratory to have a trial podcast for our Readers Theatre.

Please remember to revise for Science by going through Chapters 1 & 2.

Alternative Assessment Notice

Science
The laboratory period will be on Friday (26/2), periods 3 and 4 (during Math). Please study Chapters 1 & 2 of your textbook to prepare. There is a series of 3 workstations (hands-on activities) where you will work with a partner. Have fun!

English
The written test will be on Thursday (25/2) after recess. This is based on Units 1, 6 and 10.
Readers Theatre will be held the following week. There is a change to the method of assessment. It will be a 'live' assessment the following week (week 9) during class time. Different groups will be presenting on different days.

Happy Lunar New Year, one and all!

There isn't any homework so you may enjoy your holiday thoroughly. Remember to avoid eating too much goodies, especially those who are already having a cough.

For pupils who will be receiving red packets, it will be a very nice gesture if you can offer what you've collected to your parents. Do realize that as you collect these red packets, your parents will be giving them out too. This is one way we can learn to honour our parents (Exodus 20:5) during this festive period.

Remember also that your MT teacher will be collecting an Ang Pow donation for the Jamilah Home next Wed. Do give
if you are able to, and with a cheerful heart.

SPELLING scheduled on next Monday (15 Feb) will be postponed to Friday (19 Feb).


Let us all also be focused in class this week so we can complete everything we've planned. We want to avoid having homework over the holiday period.

2) Buy the Math Test 3 book ($4.15), write your name and place it on the classroom shelf. We will use it by this week.

Science - Thank you for bringing your pets to school; I've some pictures of your pets and I'll try to post them on the blog when I have time. Don't bring them to school any more so we do not overly traumatize them. Many of you were overly excited today and the pets must have been very frightened.

1) Not everyone has submitted the Travel Declaration form. Please remember to do do by Monday.
2) Readers' Theatre training (recording) will be conducted for the 8 selected pupils next Thursday, 11 Feb, from 2 to 3 pm. You will meet in the canteen.
3) 2 new forms have been handed out today
a) LNY Celebrations Notice for Fri, 12 Feb; reporting/assembly and dismissal times remain the same
b) Primary 3 Holistic Assessment Notice. This is to be signed by parents and returned.

Homework
1) MPAH Worksheet - Practice 3, pages 73 to 78.
2) English MPAH Worksheet - Unit 1, pages 5 to 8 (corrections for pages 3 and 4)

Remember also to learn your spelling for Monday.

- Please bring $4.15 to school to buy this book from the bookstore which had been omitted from the book list: My Pals Are Here Maths Test 3
- A formal letter from the school will be printed and distributed to all parents subsequently, but I will begin collecting the books tomorrow.
- The Travel Delclaration forms for the Lunar New Year period have been distributed. Please complete and return them latest by Monday. 8th Feb.

Aqilah and Melantha have been appointed our N.I.C.E. monitors for the collection of the Little Red Dot papers every Tuesday. Thank you for volunteering and for being early every day.
