Tomorrow is Founder's Day. Pack your bags only for the first 4 periods, as you will be dismissed at 9.30 am.

For Science, bring your (blue) Biology Book and the Cycles textbook.

You also have to hand-in:
1) English - composition
2) English - Unit 2 worksheets
3) Math worksheets (if not handed in)

You need not bring English or Math textbooks.

1) Differences & similarities between a tortoise and a turtle

OR

2) Differences & similarities between a butterfly and a moth

Remember that your time has to be spent wisely and productively.

ENGLISH

Please complete the comprehension exercise on Chameleons - Sections A & B on page 16 (MPAH Unit 2).

MATH

Weekly problem sums - We're going into multiplication & division now. Remember to read and determine first who has more in statements like "John has 3 times as many muffins as Peter". Then use the correct operation - multiply or divide, depending on the question.

SCIENCE

I forgot to tell the class this today... If you can, bring a baby photograph of yourself to school tomorrow. Thank you.

OTHERS

Have your parents sign and return the P1 registration form for 2010. It does not matter if you don't have any sibling who will be joining SHPS next year. You still have to complete & return the form.

Welcome back to school.

There isn't any homework today, unless you didn't complete the work assigned to you during class time.

The Math paper and rubrics for the Term 1 test has been returned today. Please have your parent(s) look through it and sign it. Return it to me the next day.

SPELLING

There will be spelling on Thursday (25 Mar). We've gone through the phrases on pages 176 and 177 today in class. Please learn them.

The next spelling will be on the following Monday (29 Mar), pages 178 & 179, and every Monday thereafter.

Ask N Learn Portal

Dear boys and girls

Log in to your AsknLearn portal and click on "My Tasks". Go through the lessons and complete the piece of Math problem sums on a foolscap paper. You can print it out or simply refer to the questions from the computer screen. There's no need not copy the questions.

Practice makes perfect.

We welcome the one week term break. Some of us will be travelling, so enjoy yourselves. Sadly, we will not be seeing Janelle for the rest of the year as her family is relocating to Australia. We wish her the best.

Continue to read newspapers articles during the holidays and fill up your vocabulary list worksheet.

English
- Bring home the red file
- File all your work for the term at home and bring the red file back to school on Thu or Fri.
- Reinforce the cover sheets if necessary. Return the red file with the cover sheets.

Math
- File all your worksheets at home.
- Return the blue files on Thu or Fri. You should have a total of 3 blue files in the classroom.

Science
- Look after your mealworms well. You've been given the instructions to fill in your observation in your blue biology book.

Moral Education test (Wed, 10 Mar)
There will be a test on Wednesday 10 Mar. Please revise page 42 of your pupil handbook. Remember the definition of Self Control and the 5 "I Will" Statements.
Think also of a few ways to apply self control in situations that you face often.

Talent Fiesta (Thu 11 Mar)
Come to school in your house T-shirts on this day. Remember to bring your art materials
- oil pastels
- a pair of scissors
- glue
- art block
- coloured paper
- rag

You may also bring ribbons, strings or anything that can help decorate your work.

A form has been given out to pupils today by the school to collect $30 for the following:
- 2010 School Magazine, Insurance, Miscellaneous Items

Please submit the $30 in cash or cheque (payable to "St Hilda's Primary School) by Monday, 8 Mar 2010.

The 3 pupils on the Financial Assistance scheme are excluded.
