Mon, 1 Feb

We will be having a composition writing exercise tomorrow. For English on Tuesday, please bring:
1) lined paper
2) book of phrases
3) one small musical instrument (only if you have one that fits into your bag)

Term 1 Week 5 (beginning 1st Feb)

English

We'll be starting on Unit 1. Your worksheets are with me. Please continue to bring the 3A Textbook to school.

At the same time, we will spend 1 to 2 periods weekly on Readers Theatre. This is one of the alternative forms of assessment for Term 1, the other being the weekly spelling on Mondays. Some time during week 9-10 this term, we'll be going to the computer lab to record you reading together with your group members.

We'll find time this week to select our 2 representatives for the inter-class anagram competition. I will have to conduct a quick selection test, but there isn't a need for you to prepare or study for this.

Science

We have started on Chapter 2 - Diversity of Living Things, since last week. Spend time regularly to read your textbook (Diversity) up to page 41.

Those of you who have been assigned to begin the "mould on bread" experiment, please bring the bread to school on Thursday (4th Feb). We'll also have a day next week (9th Feb) where a few of us will bring our small pets to school for the class to observe. Please seek your parents' permission for this. To show consideration to your friends, do not bring cats or dogs.

Welcome to the Class Blog

Dear parents, boys and girls

It has taken a whole month for me to begin this blog. It is something which I hope I will be able to find the time and space to consistently update.

For a start, I'll use this to update everyone on the homework, assignments and tasks that I've given to the class. I'll also use this to inform everyone about upcoming activities both for the class and the school.
